Frequently asked questions

Is my PDF uploaded anywhere?

No. The file is read in your browser with pdf.js; nothing is sent to a server.

Why does it say 'no extractable text'?

Scanned/image-only PDFs have no text layer. Use an OCR step first, or paste the text into the AI Text Summarizer.

What is an extractive summary?

It keeps the most important existing sentences from the PDF. Abstractive (rewritten) summaries are a Pro feature.
